Holly Hunter is a well-known American actress also known as a producer, director and actress. Her work has been recognized for films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. The actress has received several awards for her work which includes an Oscar. The accomplished actress started her career in acting on the stage by performing in a myriad of Broadway and Off-Broadway projects. Since her childhood, she performed Helen Keller in a play during the 5th grade. The mumps caused her to lose hearing in one her ear canals, but that did not stop her from following her dreams. As a teenager she studied drama, and eventually moved to New York City. She ran into Beth Henley in an elevator and they collaborated on Broadway Crimes of the Heart the first movie Hunter made. When she moved into Los Angeles, Hunter tried to find film roles. An supporting role was found in Swing Shift. Her career spans more than 30 years, and she's been featured in numerous TV shows as well as series and films. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and she has won Women in Film Lucy Award.
