Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter was an American actress, who gained fame for the films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, like an Oscar for the movie Piano. At a young age, the accomplished actress began playing on stage for several Broadway or Off-Broadway productions. Acting has always been her love of life. In the fifth grade she portrayed Helen Keller in an original show. She was born deaf in the one ear due to Mumps, but she didn't let this disability dampen the determination of her to become an actress. While in college, she took classes in theatre as well as later moving from Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, to New York City in pursuit of her dream. She met Beth Henley in an elevator and they worked together on Broadway Crimes of the Heart, Hunter's first film. Her first film role came after she relocated to Los Angeles. She has since appeared in numerous films and television series and movies over a career spanning over three decades. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and was awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
